Rural Idyll by the Fell
Village Ylläsjärvi and its about 350 inhabitants are located on the foot of the great Fell Ylläs, at Ylläs tourism resort in Fell-Lapland. We are surrounded by magnificent national park of Pallas-Yllästunturi, vast marshlands, lakes and small rivers. We breathe the cleanest air in the world and drink spring water. The village is growing and becomes international.

At the centre of the village Ylläsjärvi, just by the lake you will find the traditional countryside scenery with fields, village shop and typical red houses. In the summer horses and sheep are pasturing on the fields as well as reindeer walking alongside the village road.
We have the longest alpine ski slopes in Finland and the gondola (cable car) that takes you to the top of Fell Ylläs for skiing at winter and downhill biking in the summer. The village is surrounded by various outdoor trails for x-country skiing, winter biking and winter walking, mountain biking and hiking.
Children enjoy our new log made school and kindergarten as well as lakeside playground, swimming place and pump park for bikes.
